Homemade Breakfast Granola with Fig Jam Recipe | Dukkan

Fig jam is the best topping on  your breakfast granola, and this recipe for homemade granola is the best granola you can ever imagine eating! This easy-to-prepare granola can be combined with any Greek yogurt you prefer for a healthy start to the day. Combine it with some of Dukkan's fig jam or even a drizzle of molasses, and you have something sweet to start your day with. This recipe was created by Loulwa Mkaiche who relies on her Lebanese-Saudi heritage and her years of experience working in some of New York’s most respected restaurants, including the Michelin-star restaurant Daniel, to create recipes that mingle flavors and styles from different cultures and cuisines.

INGREDIENTS

 

 

  • 5 cups of rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 almonds
  • 1/4 cup walnuts
  • 1/4 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin coconut oil
  • 2tsp vanilla extract 

    DIRECTIONS

     

     

    1. Step 1 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
    2. Step 2 In a large bowl, mix your wet ingredients until combined. Add all the dry ingredients and combine thoroughly.
    3. Step 3 Lay the mixture on a baking sheet and bake for 20-22 minutes, turning it halfway through so that the granola starts to form but not solidify and bake evenly. Let cool completely before adding small pieces of your favorite dried fruit such as apricots, figs or dates.
    4. Step 4 Serve with Greek yogurt, a spoonful of molasses, a drizzle of tahini or combine with fig or strawberry jam.
